History
The Maryland CASH Campaign was established in 2005 to link asset building programs in Maryland together to strengthen products and policies that promote financial security for families. Current Director Robin McKinney co-founded the Maryland CASH Campaign with the Baltimore CASH Campaign and the Maryland Committee for Children. They met for two years to discuss and strategize how to provide free tax preparation services and asset development opportunities to Maryland residents before hiring Robin as the full-time director in 2007.
Mission
Maryland CASH promotes programs, products, and policies that protect and grow the financial security of working families by improving the availability of financial education, providing practitioner trainings and professional development, conducting research, and advocating for policy change. Maryland CASH partners with nonprofits, government agencies, the financial service industry, higher education institutions, elected officials, and private foundations across the state of Maryland.
